Stay-cation Day 2

Ever since mid-June we've been wanting to take a trip out to our beloved Apple Creek. Now that we have to pack and either walk or bike in to avoid wash-outs, it makes a lot more time-consuming trip. The weather had been too wet and unstable for the adventure. Finally today we were able to venture out. We had a perfect breakfast: homemade rhubarb pies with ice cream and coffee. Our way bicycling in with backpacks was not easy, going through wet muddy path in the mosquito-infested woods.
Once we got to the river, all our doubt disappeared. It was definitely worth it.
As we headed downstream, fishing got better. We both caught a nice mix of Brook trout, Browns, and Rainbows, in various sizes. The biggest was Joe's 13" Brown. We must have stayed on the river for close to 3 hours. It was one of the most exciting fishing trip. Joe's Dad would have loved it, too.
