Spring Into Summer

We waited, and waited for so long. Now that spring and summer arrived all at once, we are realizing there are so many things we want to do. Memorial Day has come and gone already (the above picture is the proof). Since, we've had some hot pot dinner weather here and there, but this week we actually believed Winter has left for good.
It's trout season. Every chance we get, we go fishing, even in the middle of week. Just to catch a beautiful evening on the river.
Our rhubarb was ready to be picked, and I wanted fresh rhubarb pies.
It always amazes me how such a strange plant makes oh so delicious pie fillings.
Mmmmm.
Conveniently we ran out of oatmeal for breakfast. Homemade rhubarb pie a la mode, I must say, makes the best breakfast. Only better if I had a day off to go fishing with Joe after this.
Part of the reasons time is flying by is that I NEED to finish this painting before the end of June for a small art display. Wish me luck.
