Trout Season!

This Saturday was the opening day of trout season. Joe figured the water was too high to fish, also chilly enough for puddles to have skim ice, he instead made breakfast and gave me a ride to work. Then he got a haircut and changed oil on our Subaru to get ready for our trip.
But Sunday afternoon it warmed up, and Joe went fishing. All things considered, the water was not as high as it had been. He did not see any visible signs of steelheads or salmon..., or any fish for that matter. Just as he was giving up, he had a hit on his crawler and managed to pull this beautiful steelhead (lake run rainbow trout). The color is still bright because it's fresh up from the big lake. Later on it would have turned more silver.
The first freshly caught fish for dinner this season! Kayo was real happy.
