Good Day Fishing!

Last Sunday morning there was a brief window between stormy systems moving in from west. We took a quick fishing trip... 'cause you never know. Mosquitoes were biting, thankfully a little slow in the cool weather, and the water looked perfect. Still, fish weren't hitting at first. Then I rolled a good-size fish who got away. I'm still learning how and when to set a hook properly. Luckily I pulled this 10" Brookie from the next hole, though the fish was barely hooked by the lip. Probably the biggest Brook Trout for me.
Of course, Joe had to show off his skill right after by catching an 11" Brookie from the same spot. Oh so easily! We let both of the native fish go. Rainbows, Browns, and Brookies of smaller size were active for a little while until the next weather system rolled in. Then they were all done. It was a fun trip.
