Fishing License Renewed

Our fishing license expired at the end of March. Not that any of trout streams are open for season, but this Sunday was a gorgeous day. We definitely got a case of fishing fever. After our fishing license renewed and our first choice steelhead fishing spots all taken, we had to find another spot, which Joe thought was the mouth of a river where steelhead and spring salmon are starting to run. When he looked up Google Map at home, he realized we were off by one bridge. Still, we each caught a fish, though only a sucker, which we now know was a confused fish not actually running up the river correctly. We also greeted many people walking, biking, jogging by, plus listened to a couple of geese making all sorts of noise. We really missed the quiet and solitude of Apple Creek.
Since we were close to the lake, we had to check out the break walls. No fish, but the breeze definitely felt like spring. We enjoyed the fresh air.
This weekend Joe decided to try his hand at yakitori, Japanese style grilled chicken on skewers. He's not quite ready to throw a yakitori party yet, but we'll be having this on summer evenings this year. First, we need another bag of charcoal.
A little side note: I tried making Bento lunch one day last week when we were completely out of bread. It's a lot of work/ multi-tasking to make, but surely makes lunch time more fun.
