March!?

March has arrived..., yet we hardly noticed. At the end of February our snow accumulation for the season reached over 200", almost half of which fell last month. Even for our standard, that is an impressive amount. We celebrated Japan's Girl's Day (hina-matsuri) on March 3rd with sushi rolls and delicious sake.
Yesterday, once again, we had additional 6 inches of snow. Nothing major, really. To cure Kayo's cabin fever we went out for a walk.
Walking in fresh snow was actually a pretty good work-out, which was canceled out by our nacho and beer break. Our favorite thing to do on a Sunday afternoon at a local joint.
You can see how we needed a little pick-me-up... to deal with all this white! Note: in the below picture we were walking on a side walk. The road is beyond the white wall on the left.
