Joe's Birthday!

This weekend we got to have our first picnic of the year by the lakeshore. Something to celebrate about. The warm sun and 50 degree fresh air felt so good. 

After our hefty sub sandwich picnic lunch, we needed to take a walk. Got to see a bunch of healthy looking deer in the woods, too.

As usual Joe requested a tonkatsu dinner for his birthday, so we celebrated a few days earlier. 

For dessert we are enjoying bourbon cheesecake with bourbon chocolate sauce. A small slice at a time, for breakfast here, for after dinner there, maybe even in a lunch bag... for a week. Today, Joe's actual birthday, is our normal work day unfortunately, but we are going out on a movie date night (for Captain Marvel) after a quick leftover tonkatsu diner.
