Joe on the Roof

Finally we've had a warm couple of weeks, and Joe's been busy up and down the ladders outside our house. We've been painting the sidings to cover weathered spots. Joe was up on the porch roof to seal the seams with sealer and tar yesterday. We NEED to get our house ready for the WINTER!! Mornings and evenings are getting pretty cold, though the midday sun is still plenty warm... look at Joe's sunflowers. Now we know the chipmunks' favorite sunflowers had been the reddish ones. They ate all but this one seed/plant that has survived to bloom. Hope we can harvest the seeds for next year.
Salmons are in for spawning. In the picture below is the 20" salmon that Joe's dad caught last weekend. It was delicious... especially in sushi rolls. Yum.
