P.S.

I (Kayo) just wanted to clarify that I am no mechanic. I attempted to reach for the AC/heater fan blower motor that was in the tight space the other day. But Joe pretty much did all the work anyway. Now I know why lots of mechanics own big trucks. They have more spaces to work in. I might be small enough to get into small spaces, but have NO muscle. Oh well. I hope you enjoyed the little video, though.
P.P.S. Our red car now has a working blowing fan at all settings.

A dog day afternoon

Today while Kayo was at work I (Joe) was getting things ready for summer. I tilled the little garden spot, trimmed back the grape vines and set up our fire pit.
After dinner and short but sweet peddle bike ride, My dear sweet wife offered to help me work on the car.   Here is a short video of Kayo the super mechanic in action.

Bill Cosby

Last night we went to see Bill Cosby on stage at MTU. It was another part of our anniversary gift to ourselves. He was very good, funny of course. Clever funny. We had a nice quick road trip, with our favorite Husky burgers and KBC beer.
Today, Saturday, I got to enjoy a relaxing day off at home while Joe and his brother Mark went and checked their lamprey nets. (They started the lamprey project for Fish and Wildlife finally this year, about a whole month behind schedule.)  I had plenty of time to cook: Kahlua style pork, black beans and rice, and classic coleslaw.
Joe did come home with a few black morel mushrooms, the very first handful this year. We are hoping next week will be a better pick.

Hang On, Spring!

Last Tuesday the weather was so nice, almost in the 70s, that I enjoyed hanging towels and sheets outside in the sun. I still put back on flannel (winter) sheets, and it was a very good thing.
Over the weekend we were back in Winter. If we didn't know what month it was, the howling sound of that north wind made us believe it was a blizzard outside.
We prayed that our Spring/Summer was not over!
Thank goodness, it's supposed to get warmer today. Hopefully Spring decides to stay longer this time.

Happy Anniversary

The picture above was from Friday morning. Rain turned into snow the night before. We thought our anniversary weekend might be crappy weather....
Though the wind was still chilly, the whole weekend turned nice and sunny. Yesterday we took a drive to see a couple of small waterfalls in the area.
With a sudden thaw for the last couple of weeks, rivers are running high. So are the waterfalls.
It was also Cinco de Mayo. We had to do Mexican. Joe grilled fajita beef and veggies for dinner.
And a batch of Margarita, of course. We made tacos with our homemade corn tortilla. That's as authentic as we can get in this far north!
Another beautiful day today. We took one more day off. Will go out fishing later on. Also we want to go see the new Iron Man movie.
