Summer Up North

Up this north the blast of this summer's heat elsewhere reaches us just to provide a "good warm summer." The drought conditions in such large regions are still worrisome, and more and more cases of severe weather all around the world just don't feel right. Yet, when you don't usually get to enjoy the summer goodness fully, you have that much more appreciation for all the small summer joys. 
I couldn't help but take a picture of such beautiful veggies above. The zucchini and squash came fresh from Joe's uncle's garden, the pretty little Japanese eggplants from a Farmers Market. Perfect ingredients to make a pot of Thai curry.       

We are now counting down the days till my mom and brother will get here next week. We hope to get to share all that we cherish and enjoy in the summer up north.
