Quite a switch from the winter storm last Sunday. Today's high temp reached close to 60 degrees inland, 50 by the lake. We checked out the ice-packed harbor where an ore boat was stuck and a Coast Guard boat trying to break the ice. We walked out on the break wall as far as we could go till it went under ice. The below picture shows Joe wearing his aloha shirt, dreaming he were in Hawaii.
We even enjoyed a pasty picnic outdoors. There was no wind, and the lake was absolutely calm. Not so good news for the boats stuck in the ice.
After lunch we walked around the island....
Then we stopped for a few beers at Blackrocks to celebrate the Earth Day. We also bought our fishing licenses. 6 more days till trout season!
After close to 3 feet of snow earlier this week, Mother Nature is really trying to make up. Yesterday and today we saw lots of sunshine with temps reaching 55. When I went grocery shopping, a bouquet of orange tulips caught my attention. Of course, I couldn't resist. Here's our hoping for spring!
It's STILL snowing this morning, though much much lighter after snowing for 2 full days. We now have more snow than we've had all winter.
Our grape stand is buried in the back yard! It's hard to believe 11 more days till the opening day of trout season.
We are still in the middle of the snow storm, predicted to bring 1 to 3 feet of snow. We enjoyed a lazy snowy Sunday with a midday cheese plate and wine.
Then Joe cleared a path in our driveway for us to walk across the street to a birthday party.
This was at the bottom where the city plows dumped a 4 ft wall of snow. Simply amazing! The schools are already closed for tomorrow, though we will have to go to work. Getting there will be interesting for sure.
What month is this? Now we wait and see how much snow we get this time.....
I got to dye some eggs at work yesterday. It was a very snowy day... but it is bright and sunny this morning, still plenty cold about 15 degrees. Happy Easter to all!
